Bai Tou Weng Tang
English Name: Pulsatilla Decoction

Actions: Clears heat, relieves toxicity, cools blood, alleviates dysenteric disorders.
Traditional indications of this Chinese herbal formula include: Abdominal pain, tenesmus, burning pain around the anus, diarrhea with pus and blood, thirst.
Tongue Image: Red tongue body with yellow coating.
Pulse: Wiry, Rapid.

For hot dysenteric disorder due to damp-heat in the GI tract. Occasionally used for acute eye disorders due to damp-heat. Note that this formula is extremely bitter and cold and should be used in excess heat patterns only.
